Workshop on climate-smart agriculture at Ovidius University of Constanta

The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (FSNSA) of Ovidius University of Constanta (OUC) will organize on Wednesday, 23 March 2022, from 11 AM, a local business workshop for the presentation of the AGREEN Platform, electronic instrument for liaising sustainable producers and promoting climate-smart agriculture in the Black Sea Basin, informs Professor Liliana Panaitescu, PhD, the project coordinator for OUC.

The event will take place in hybrid format – at room E21 on Bd. Mamaia no. 124, and online at https://ovidius.webex.com/meet/irina.moise. Representatives of the local administration, representatives of professional associations in the agricultural field, farmers and students are invited.

“The aim of the business workshop is, on the one hand, to disseminate and popularize the AGREEN Internet Platform and its services and, on the other hand, to test its relevance to the needs of stakeholders. During the meeting, researchers and representatives of the business environment will have presentations “, states Professor Liliana Panaitescu, PhD.

The AGREEN Project – “Cross-Border Alliance for Climate-Smart and Green Agriculture in the Black Sea Basin”, co-financed by the EU through the Joint Operational Programme Black Sea Basin 2014-2020, is carried out between 1 June 2020 and 30 November 2022, and brings together entrepreneurial, research and educational experience from higher education institutions, research centres and business support centres. The project partners are: Association „Dobrudzha Agrarian and Business School” (DABS) – Bulgaria, Ovidius University of Constanta – Romania, Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University – Turkey, Biological Farming Association Elkana – Georgia, International Center for Agribusiness Research and Education (ICARE) – Armenia and Development Agency of Eastern Thessaloniki Local Authorities (Anatoliki S.A.) – Greece.

OUC is the leader of work package 4 “Entrepreneurial learning for climate-smart agriculture”, which includes the development of the training course training course “Entrepreneurship for Climate-smart Agriculture in the Black Sea Basin”, which is suitable for face-to-face and online learning. The course will be tested with a pilot group of students who, in turn, will teach the course to multiply the results.

AGREEN is a capacity-building project aiming to build a transnational network for the transfer of information and knowledge and to support the development of smart agriculture in the BSB, all from the perspective of increasing exchange and economic opportunities and social performance.
