AGREEN project is based upon the concept of Climate-smart agriculture and unites multiple organizations from the region of Black Sea Basin. Our mission is to bring coherence within the actions taken against climate change and restore environmental stability, economic and food security for generations to come.
Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) is an approach that helps to guide integrated actions towards the transformation of agricultural systems and to effectively support the innovation and ensure food security in a changing climate.
Increase agricultural productivity and incomes
Enhance adaptation and resilience to climate-change
AGREEN sets the following goals in order to meaningfully contribute to the implementation of CSA in the BSB
The challenge Innovations in agricultural sector
There is a huge collective challenge we are all facing – food, trade and ecosystem stability are at stake.
Is it possible to adapt the production of agriculture to climate specifics? Innovations in the agricultural sector are not unknown, but are they applied? Where and how? Are we taking care of our environment while producing goods? How this influences the income of farmers and the overall economy of locals? Unity is needed to manage the risk of our conventional food chain. Our plan is to create a transnational network for the transfer of good practices and advice.
