National Focus Group Braning Workshop was held at Our University within the scope of European Union Supported AGREEN Project

A National Focus Group Workshop on branding was held within the scope of the European Union-supported “Cross-Border Alliance for Climate-Sensitive, Green Agriculture in the Black Sea Basin (AGREEN)”, of which Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University is a partner.

AGREEN Project, which carries out activities with the aim of modernizing the agricultural sector, introducing climate-sensitive agricultural products to the market with a common brand, and establishing learning partnerships, brought together agricultural producers, officials of public institutions and scientists in the region for the Focus Group Branding Workshop.

The opening of the AGREEN National Focus Group Branding Workshop was attended by Project Coordinator Prof. Dr. Tolga ERDEM. After the welcome speech, AGREEN Community OF Practice Coordinator Dr. Duygu DOĞAN talked about the special goals of the project and its planned activities on climate-smart agriculture. Joint branding strategies were discussed for the marketing of climate smart agricultural products, which are going to be grown in the Black Sea Basin. AGREEN Branding Expert Prof. Dr. M. Ömer AZABAĞAOĞLU moderated the focus group discussions. During this second session, international accreditation in branding, competitiveness of the market for climate sensitive agricultural products, consumer profile, expectations of manufacturers and common brand identity were discussed. AGREEN Project, which is being carried out with the simultaneous activities of partners from 6 countries neighbouring or bordering the Black Sea, is supported by the Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020 funding source. The next step of the AGREEN project, which draws attention with its large budget of 799,279.60 Euros and a duration of 30 months, will be climate sensitive agriculture modelling and experimental studies.
