On the first day of the field-trip within the AGREEN project the project partners gathered for an on-site visit of the experimental plots in the region of Tekirdag, Turkey. During the first session the Association DABS – Bulgaria, Tekirdag Namuk Kemal University (TKNU) – Turkey and the Biological Farming Association Elkana – Georgia teams’ representatives presented the crop models developed in Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey. In addition, on behalf of the hosting partner TKNU Prof. Dr. Fatih KONUKCU, informed the participants of the agricultural history in Turkey and the specifics of the modern agriculture in the Thrace Region.
In the afternoon session and during the second day, the participants visited Visit Tekirdağ Viticulture Research Institute, the TNKU Ziraat Biyotek (Agricultural Biotechnology Research and Production Centre) and performed field trip observations for monitoring the progress of the modelled crops in Turkey. After the trip they ended the visit with networking sessions with the local participants when discussions and conclusions from the observations were exchanged.
